Uzana Hut is situated at an altitude of 1240 meters in the namesake area, Uzana, on the ridge of the Stara Planina mountain range. The Uzana locality is located in the Gabrovo Balkan and is accessible via an asphalt road from Gabrovo, with a distance of 25 kilometers. The hut is open year-round and offers opportunities for walking and mountain tourism, and in winter, for skiing.
Uzana Hut is a solid three-story building with a spacious dining room, foyer, and wide veranda. It has 11 bedrooms and two attic rooms, with a total capacity of around 80 places. In winter, some of these rooms are heated with solid fuel, providing coziness.
In 2009-2010, a renovation of all rooms in the hut was carried out. New beds with mattresses were installed, and the rooms were painted and refreshed. There are toilets and bathrooms on the ground floor of the building, as well as on the two bedroom floors.
The hut has its own water source with very clean and cold water.
The hut's website provides information about the locality and possible routes. It also includes information about the creation and past of the hut, which is the oldest tourist object in Uzana, as well as photos of the hut and the area.
Uzana Hut and the Uzana area offer countless opportunities for walks and mountain tourism. Some of the most popular routes are described in the "Routes" section. The large meadow where the hut is located offers opportunities for pleasant light walks. You can pick herbs, strawberries, or mushrooms.
In the vicinity of the hut, there are several ski slopes. The largest are at the DS Rositsa base (Gorsko), Emar ski zone, and the Na Zavoya slope, which is the largest and most difficult. At Uzana Hut, as well as on many of the slopes, you can rent skis and boots.
Sports clubs from Gabrovo and ecological organizations organize children's camps at Uzana. At Uzana Hut, there are also annual meetings of veteran tourists (in September) and students (in May-June).
