The beautiful Smolyan village Banite is located deep into the bosom of the majestic Rhodope mountain on the valley of Malka Arda river at 750m altitude. It is situated between two regional centers. The distance from town of Kardzhali is 62 km, from town of Smolyan is 45 km, from city of Plovdiv is 110 km. and from city of Sofia – 250 km. Village of Banite is famous for the mineral water, which temperature at issuing is 43° С and is the only one in Bulgaria. According to the legends the hot mineral spring dates back to roman times.
The discovered ancient remains of a bath show that hundreds of years ago the water had been used for treatment. The picturesque mountain scenery, the thermal mineral spring and the clean and fresh air create a unique atmosphere in this mountain village.
